Finishing my first Tough Mudder

Six mud-covered Tough Mudder finishers, including Andrew S. Thompson, posing arm in arm with their medals in front of the finish line arch

I just completed my first Tough Mudder race, and I'm extremely relieved that I had the chance to do so with my brothers and dad. I started running just one year ago, and have successfully completed a half-marathon, a 10k in Lincoln (England), and now a Tough Mudder (15k/9.3mi) through muddy trails and numerous team-oriented obstacles.

Now that the race is over, I have an exciting medal, a cool t-shirt and headband, and some knee and leg pain to battle. I hope now, that I have the opportunity to find some other unique race or destination to train for.
